SEC v. 1Pool

The SEC sues 1Pool for offering CFDs, which they argue are unregistered securities-based swaps. Without admitting or denying the factual allegations of the complaint, the Defendants defendants are jointly and severally liable for over $50,000 in disgorgement, civil penalties, and prejudgment interest.

This case demonstrates an example of when the SEC believes a cryptocurrency is a securities-based swap.
